26 September. Meeting of National Presidents
The following issues were discussed:
The Licensing Executives Society USA/Canada acting as a sponsoring society for the Licensing Society of Colombia — successful organisation of a seminar in Colombia.
The issue of introducing mandatory rotation of the heads of national societies into the Charter of the Licensing Executives Society International. The issue had not yet been resolved.

On the same day, a meeting of European Presidents was held.
The following issues were discussed:
Admission of Croatia to the Licensing Executives Society International as a National Licensing Society. The matter was postponed due to insufficient activity by the Croatian initiative group.
The licensing course developed by the Licensing Executives Society USA/Canada. Delegates from National Societies were to receive training leading to an instructor certificate authorising them to teach the course in their respective countries. Any national adaptation of the course required permission from the Licensing Executives Society USA/Canada.
The European Conference of the Licensing Executives Society International in Paris in 2004. The programme was discussed. It was considered desirable to include presentations reflecting French national characteristics in order to increase interest in the Conference.
The LES Russia website was recognised as one of the best.
27 September. Morning session of the Meeting of International Delegates
The following issues were considered:
“What is LESI?” — presentation by LESI President Mr Terry Suer.
Basic Licensing Course. Report by the Licensing Executives Society USA/Canada on preparation of the course and training of delegates from National Societies.
International Conference of the Licensing Executives Society International in Cairo in 2004. Difficulties in preparing the Conference due to the worsening political situation in the Middle East. The Conference might be cancelled.
A proposal by Mr Goldscheider to translate the book “Guide to Licensing” into Russian. The proposal was under consideration by the Council of the Russian Licensing Society.
The motto “Connecting Licensing Professionals Around the World” was adopted.
A new trademark and related licence agreement were proposed.
Committee leadership was discussed.

27 September. Participation in the work of the Conference Committee
The following issues were discussed:
Conference revenues should be divided 50/50 between the International Society and the National Society.
A National Society may receive a non-refundable loan of up to USD 10,000 from the International Society in the event of difficulties in organising a Conference.

Report on preparations for the 2003 International Conference of the Licensing Executives Society International in Oslo.
Report on preparations for the 2003 International Conference of the Licensing Executives Society International in Cairo.
