LES Russia Anniversary Conference “Intellectual Property and Business: Year-End Review, Practice and Trends”

The Licensing Executives Society Russia (LES Russia) held a successful anniversary conference in Moscow to mark the 30th anniversary of its founding. The conference was entitled “Intellectual Property and Business: Year-End Review, Practice and Trends.”
The conference addressed the legal protection and commercialisation of intellectual property, the specific aspects of using IP in the IT sector, recent developments in IP legislation and practice, and prospects for developing the system of legal protection for intellectual activity within the framework of the Eurasian Patent Convention.
The anniversary conference brought together senior representatives of Rospatent and the Eurasian Patent Office, as well as executives from major Russian companies and industry associations.
The event was intended for representatives of the business community, industrial companies, small and medium-sized enterprises, financial institutions, lawyers, and licensing and technology transfer professionals.
Evgeny B. Alexandrov, President of LES Russia, presented Certificates of Honour for many years of dedicated service and significant contributions to the development of the Society to:
Each of the recipients had served as President of LES Russia at different times.
The conference also featured a presentation of the book “Fundamentals for Developing a Modern Shared Information and Expert Environment for Industrial Property in the Eurasian Region.” Its authors are G.P. Ivliev, President of the Eurasian Patent Office (EAPO) and Scientific Director of the Federal Institute of Industrial Property (FIPS); A.L. Zhuravlev, Head of the FIPS International Cooperation Centre; D.Yu. Rogozhin, Deputy Head of the EAPO Examination Directorate; and T.N. Erivantseva, Adviser in the EAPO Organisational and Legal Directorate.
