Sergey Dorofeev, International Delegate representing the Licensing Executives Society Russia (LES Russia), attended the 40th Annual Conference of the Licensing Executives Society International (LESI), held in Boston, USA.
The Conference featured plenary sessions and round-table discussions on cross-licensing strategies, licensing in the sports industry, the valuation of intangible assets, invention incubators, various intellectual property-based business development models, venture capital funds and other related topics.
Approximately 1,700 professionals attended the Conference.
On 21 October 2004, Sergey Dorofeev participated in a meeting of the Presidents of the European LES national societies. The participants discussed preparations for the 2005 International Conference in Munich. The key issues included attracting more international speakers and representatives of small and medium-sized enterprises, developing a dedicated licensing course for SMEs and engaging sponsors in the commercialization of university-developed technologies.
Following the Conference, on 22–23 October, Sergey Dorofeev attended the LESI International Delegates Meeting. The meeting included the presentation of the new LESI website and discussions on increasing LESI membership, organizing joint meetings between committee members and the wider LESI membership, presenting the LESI Gold Medal to Heinz Goddar of Germany, addressing internal LESI matters, coordinating the activities of national LES societies and implementing the LESI development programme. The agenda also included reports from national societies and LESI governing bodies, as well as meetings of LESI committees.
Sergey Dorofeev also participated in the work of several LESI committees. During a meeting of the E-Commerce and Information Technology Committee, its Chair, Stefan Schohe of Germany, offered the Committee’s assistance in organizing a seminar on e-commerce and information technology in Moscow in 2005.
The International Delegates Meeting was attended by more than 110 participants.
