The conference “Current Regulation of Intellectual Property and Licensing in the Eurasian Economic Union” was held in Minsk. It was organized by the Chamber of Patent Attorneys, the Belarusian Association of Patent Attorneys and the BelBrand Association. LES Russia also played an active role in organizing and holding the conference.

V. Koroleva, Director of LexPatent; and P. V. German, General Director of AIS INTELS, moderated the following sessions:
“IP Legislation in the Eurasian Economic Union Countries: A Driver or an Obstacle?”; “Licensing: Law and Reality”; “Franchising in the EAEU”; “Geographical Indications”; and “Emerging IP Disputes: Online Infringement, Blockchain and Personal Data.”
Jennet Abduraimova, Patent Attorney and Head of Legal Practice at the INTELS International Group of Companies; D. D. Lando, Ph.D. in Law and Lawyer at LexPatent; and K. V. Blagopoluchnaya, Head of Intellectual Property Practice at FjM International Solicitors & Lawyers, Germany, delivered presentations entitled “Business Case Analysis” and “Preventing Infringements of Exclusive Intellectual Property Rights through Technical Information-Protection Measures.”
The conference was attended by representatives of the Eurasian Economic Commission, the Eurasian Patent Office, the National Center of Intellectual Property, Rospatent, the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia and the Federal Institute of Industrial Property, as well as leading lawyers specializing in intellectual property protection.
Participants discussed current issues relating to the legal protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights in the Republic of Belarus, the Russian Federation and other countries. The event brought together approximately 150 experts from Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Finland, Germany, Bulgaria, Azerbaijan, Latvia and Moldova.
